Announcement: New Support for Vacation Rentals Markup
Update on Monday, December 4, 2023, by Google Search Central
Vacation rentals featured on Google provide travelers with convenient access to a variety of lodging options, from cozy cabins to spacious houses for large groups. Today, an announcement from the Google Search Central Blog introduces a simplified method for vacation rental integration partners to supply listing data to Google.
Partners in the vacation rental sector now have the option to incorporate structured data markup directly into their website pages, enabling eligibility for a rich result display on Google. While the existing feed method remains suitable for larger partners and those managing numerous domains and brands, the markup option offers a simpler setup and maintenance process, particularly beneficial for smaller partners and property managers.
Please note that eligibility criteria must be met, and additional steps are necessary to complete the integration process. For detailed guidelines on listing vacation rentals on Google, refer to the integration starter guide.
Additionally, Google is introducing a new vacation rental rich result report in Search Console to assist partners in monitoring and verifying their markup. This dedicated report will facilitate the tracking and resolution of any issues related to the validity of vacation rental structured data.
For further validation and testing, partners can utilize the Rich Results Test by submitting the URL of a page or a code snippet. This tool enables immediate confirmation of markup validity, eliminating the need to wait for updates in the rich result report.
As a third-party information provider, we aim to keep partners informed about the latest developments in vacation rental integration on Google.
